Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you will know I am a volunteer for GWAAC. The charity have to move from their current home in Filton to the new base in Almondsbury and have been given a fab opportunity to buy the new base. To do this they need to raise £1.25 million by December (in addition to the 3 million they need to run each year). So why would they want to do this?
If they own their base, instead of leasing it, it will ensure both stability and longevity for their operations, ensuring that the crew can continue to carry-out their life-saving work. It will mean that they no longer run the risk of being without a home when the current lease expires. It will mean that they are better off financially in the long term.
This is an amazing opportunity but as the charity receive no Government funding they need as much support as possible. Therefore between the 1st of August and 1st of December I will be looking to cycle 1824km on an indoor bike. 1824 is the number of missions carried out by the charity in 2017 and is further than the distance from Lands End to John O'Groats!!! This will be a lot of early mornings and late nights for me and will take place at PureGym Barrow Road in Bristol.
I would therefore be grateful for any donations you can offer to this wonderful cause. Please visit the GWAAC website for more information and I will post my progress when I begin my challenge.
