Story

My reasons for raising money for Arrowe Park Neonatal Unit are very simple, they took care of a very special lady, who has battled through so much and is still smiling.

Her beautiful girls were born extremly prmature, at 23+2 weeks gestation and she was told in no uncertain terms, that things did not look good and that it was very unlikely there would be much hope of either of them surviving. Not the news a newly expectant mother wants to hear, none the less the neonatal team were present at their birth and quickly got them vented, in their incubators and rushed off to the Unit.

The Unit can be an extremely frightening place. All the beeps and alarms, the strange machines, wires, tubes and monitors are so terrifying. I was so shocked at how tiny both little girls were but it was obvious they were being looked after fantastically, both by the neonatal team and their fab mummy!

They were in their for the next four months and the team at Arrowe Park became Jeni's family, they gave her support, guidance, friendship, extra special care, they mourned with her, cried with her, taught her and laughed with her and eventually a day before their due date Pixie and mummy we're allowed home!

The team are incredibly special people that do an amazingly, hard job. This is our 'THANK YOU!' X X X

And Thank you for taking the time to read this and hopefully sponsor myself and all the other parents/family members/friends and staff that are going to fly high at speeds of up to 100mph along a MILE LONG zip wire in Snowdonia on May 4th 2014!!!
