Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am raising money for the Injured Jockeys Fund who are helping with my dad, Tyrone Williams' rehabilitation, as they do with all their beneficiaries and will continue to help him for as long as he needs.
On Friday 22nd July 2016 he suffered a catastrophic stroke, changing his life completely. He spent over 6 months in hospital learning how to do the most basic life tasks again, before being allowed to go home with professional care. Before this he used to be an independent person, going about his every day life working and riding racehorses, during and after his successful career.
Now Oaksey House, through the Injured Jockeys Fund, are providing rehabilitation to enhance his quality of life. The work they do is outstanding for all injured jockeys, ensuring they are not forgotten about and providing them with all the help and care that they need. When he arrived at Oaksey House he was wheelchair bound, when he left 6 weeks later he was climbing stars assisted. Just amazing.
So on Sunday 1st October 2017, I will partake in the Great Scottish Run Half Marathon, raising money for the Injured Jockeys Fund. If anyone is in a position to donate, no matter how small, all is very much appreciated. The Injured Jockeys Fund is a very worthy cause.
