Meningitis Research Foundation is a charity driven by a passionate mission to prevent the devastating impact of meningitis. Founded by individuals whose lives were profoundly affected by meningitis, we are dedicated to enabling positive change by uniting people and knowledge to save lives.

Story

On Friday 1st January our beautiful Zoe Hogan was taken ill with Meningitis Streptococcal B Bacterial Infection and Septicaemia which also led to multiple organ failure.

Sadly Zoe passed away on 4th January.

Zoe was a fit and healthy, 35yr old mother of two girls, both aged 6 and 9yrs old. She was a kind, generous, and happy person who would go out of her way to help others. Even those that she did not know.

In honour of Zoe and the smiles and happiness she brought to the world, 9 of us have decided to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in October 2010.

Our target is to raise £32,000. Please help us in the memory of Zoe so that we can continue to help others.

Meningitis and Septicaemia are deadly dieseases that can kill in hours.

Meningitis is the inflammation of the lining around the brain and spinal cord.

Septicaemia is the blood poisoning form of the disease.
