Fundraising to go to The Gambia to develop software for a Medical charity

Raising money to fund a trip to design and develop necessary software for a Medical charity in The Gambia · 18 June 2018
As a scholar of the Amos Bursary; a charity that helps high-achieving,
young men of African and Caribbean heritage in the UK fulfill their
potential regardless of difficult circumstances; in partnership with Imperial College London, I have the opportunity to help a charity that provides Medical research within Africa, based in The Gambia.
This is a tremendous opportunity to engage with a new culture and a different community, expanding my horizons past London and the UK.
My passion for technology began in school when I took Computing as a subject in my A Levels. Five years later, and I am a competent software developer with experience in multiple areas of the field. I am always keen to expand my knowledge and develop myself further, and I hope you can come along with me on that journey with your kind donations to my cause.
The charity I will be working for is known as the Prolifica Project, who undertake groundbreaking research in Africa to help locals, suffering from life-threatening illnesses. The work they conduct saves countless lives, and to be part of that would be a humbling and rewarding experience.
The main reason for my involvement is to use my experience and skills to make the lives of the researcher's easier with quality technology, ultimately aiding the people they help. All the money raised will go towards the cost of the flight and accommodation.
"A once in a lifetime experience" is a phrase that is thrown around often, but for me, a regular student from London just trying to get by, I can truly say going abroad for 2 months to work on something that will help to change peoples' lives for the better is definitely a once in a lifetime experience.
If you see the vision and the value of the work that will be done on this trip, your donation would be greatly appreciated! There's no such thing as too little. Even a share of this link can go a long way.
Thank you for reading and your donations and support!
