We provide support and fund vital research to make myeloma history

Story

On 5th May 2016 Lawrie Jellows, Mark Peddle, Marcus
Maisey, Nic Kamintzis, Mark Lemon, Matt McParland, Alan O’Reilly and Neil Hutchinson will be representing KDW in the Myeloma UK London to Paris Ride 2016.

The team will be cycling 500kms from London to Paris, they are riding to make Myeloma history – whilst getting fit and having lots of fun!

They chose to raise money for Myeloma UK as it has a personal connection to the team. In 2012 Lawrie Jellows’ father in law, Tony Farquharson, was diagnosed with Myeloma.

Myeloma UK is the only UK charity dealing exclusively with Myeloma. They do not receive any government funding and rely almost entirely on voluntary donations and fundraising activities; so they really need our support!

Myeloma, also known as multiple myeloma, is a cancer of plasma cells in the bone marrow.  It affects places where bone marrow is active, the bones of the spine, skull, pelvis, rib cage, the long bones of the arms and legs, the areas surrounding the shoulders and hips and the immune system.
