Ever since I was a child I was in awe of the London Marathon and after watching my dad run it for charity around 15 years ago, it's been one of those things that I really wanted to do because that itself was such a proud moment for our family and what an amazing thing that would be if I could do that too. Year on year now I've been applying through charities and the ballot and never managed to get a space.

I'll also be running the big half on the 4th September in preparation and will be supporting Slide Away for this 13 miler too!

I'm not even a keen runner, so I am really going to be putting my body through hell to do this but it will be worth it for such an amazing charity.

Over the past year I have been closely networking with Slide Away, an amazing local charity who support bereaved children in Kent. They receive very little government support and predominantly rely on donations and fundraising events like these.

They have asked that I raise a minimum of £1,000 but after finding out how much the Marathon spot cost them, I want to double or even triple this target! I'd be so grateful if you can donate what you can to help us achieve this.
