______________________________________

I think we can all look back on 2020 and utter to ourselves "Woah, what a weird year."

We have never seen anything remotely like this before. It's almost like someone has ripped the most brutal pages from a dystopian piece of fiction. For some of us, who remain fortunate and healthy, we can joke about the "new normal", and chat about all of our dearly missed luxuries; For others it's not so simple.

It's a well known fact that the male portion of the population has been fighting a battle of it's own for some time. In the UK, 125 people take their own lives each week. 75% of those are male. It is clear that something needs to change.

It doesn't take much to imagine how the continuation of the Covid-19 pandemic could influence these figures.

As a young man myself, I can definitely say that life isn't an easy ride. However, it's times like these that people need to band together and support one another.

This is why I am doing a February Fundraiser for The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM). CALM is one of the leading organisations spearheading the fight against male depression and suicide. They offer great support networks and have strived over the years to fundraise and protect those that need it most.

Throughout this month I will be running 100km, in my local area, with a fundraising target of £300. Personally, I've never been a massive runner. So this target will get me sweaty and digging deep for a cause that I hold close to heart. As the challenge unfolds I will be keeping you guys updated on my progress, and thanking everyone that has joined in and kindly donated.

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to leave a comment on this page. Furthermore, if you wish to find out more about CALM and what they do, follow the link:
