Keeley's Wish Can Come True

In May 2016 Keeley underwent life changing Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy surgery at Great Ormond Street hospital.

We are now fundraising for the vital private physiotherapy and rehab to build her strength and mobility so she continue her incredible journey and make her wishescome true. 

OUR STORY:

Keeley is 9 years old and has Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy which before the SDR operation gaves her painful muscle tightness in her legs, despite her disability she has three very special wishes...

1. To walk

2. To play in the park with her friends

3. To become a cheerleader like her mummy

Keeley was born 8 weeks premature and was diagnosed with Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy at 2 years old. 

To help her get her wish Keeley was reccommended for an operation called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR - http://www.gosh.nhs.uk/medical-information/procedures-and-treatments/selective-dorsal-rhizotomy)

SDR released the stiffness in her legs and gave her permanent flat feet.  This will help her sit, make transitions between postures, and her standing and walking will also improve. The operation has a
100% success rate and Doctors expect Keeley will be able to walk after a course of intense specialist physiotherapy, which will dramatically improve her standard of living and enable her to follow her dreams.

Important note to donors: As long as Keeley requires the funds raised to pay for SDR treatment and post-operative rehabilitation, Caudwell Children will manage all payments of funds for the family. Should there come a time, for whatever reason, that Keeley no longer requires the funds raised then the monies raised will be used to provide similar donations to sick and disabled children living within the UK through the charity, Caudwell Children.
