We work in the North East of England, our vision is to put a smile on the face of every disabled and disadvantaged youngster.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service has a dedicated Triathlon section that raise funds for many different charities every year whilst competing in international events.
Whilst firefighters deal with many of life’s disasters on a daily basis, we find the best way of dealing with this is to focus on fund raising events.
Eight of our firefighters have entered the Hardest Ironman Event in the world (2.4 mile swim,112 mile cycle, then 26 mile run) in Lanzarote May 2011, to raise money and awareness for a childrens charity in the North East. "Smile For Life" is a charity dedicated to enhancing and enriching the lives of disabled and disadvantaged children in the north east of England.
Their mission is to assist children who are unable to get all the funding they require from the larger national charities and other organisations.

If you are able to assist with any kind of funding for this mammoth event it would be greatly appreciated.

I thank you for taking the time to read our request and hope you can help.
Yours in sport,
Firefighter Keith Christie
