Keith's #RunFatBoyRun - Five by Five and Still Be Alive Challenge

Run Fat Boy Run - Five by Five and Still Being ALive · 14 August 2019
My beautiful daughter, Natasha has Down's Syndrome, severe learning difficulties and is also autistic. She's had a number of health issues over the years and underwent open-heart surgery at the age of 5. She was later diagnosed with hip dysplasia requiring reconstructive of both her hips. In 2018, she was in the Manchester Children's hospital for hip surgery and was in for 42 days. In May this year, she was an inpatient for 30 days for the second operation. The surgery was successful and she's making a great recovery. On all three occasions, we were fortunate enough to be provided with accommodation by the wonderful Ronald McDonald House Charity. During her stay in the Manchester hospital, it meant that her Mum and myself could stay close to Natasha which is critically important for a child like her with so many challenges. Having a safe and comfortable place to stay and being able to benefit from the wonderful facilities in the House was so important for both us and Natasha during these stressful and challenging times. We owe RMHC an enormous debt of gratitude and this is where I need your help. As you may know, I'm an overweight, unfit, unhealthy, physical wreck of a guy and I'm also a bit old and a bit asthmatic. However, I was once quite good at running. Well in about 1979 anyway. So I've foolishly challenged myself to run in an official 5k event where people are watching!! not once, but five times over the coming months hence the "Five by Five". I currently can barely run 100 meters without collapsing in a heap so it's going to be interesting to say the least. All you have to do is sponsor me (and gift aid it) and all I've got to do is #RunFatBoyRun and not kill myself in the process. If it does kill me though, I'm afraid there will be no refunds, donations to the amazing Ronnie Mac House in lieu of flowers please, don't drop me on the way in and it'll be smart casual dress for the wake. Come on, let's do this (except for the funeral bit hopefully)
