Ride and Stride 2018 · 8 September 2018 ·

The OHCT gives grants to Oxfordshire churches of all Christian denominations for major fabric repairs (walls, roofs, floors and windows). Bells, organs, clocks, new toilets and kitchens may also get grants. The annual Ride and Stride is currently the biggest source of income for the OHCT.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. This is the annual Ride and Stride in aid of the Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust.

One of the churches (St. Helens Dry Sandford) that Barney visits for organ practice sustained damage to its roof during the recent heatwave due to the wood drying out more than usual. As a way to contribute towards repair work, on (Barney's birthday!) the 8th September 2018, Barney & I will be fund-raising by visiting a planned route of churches. Up to 800 people will take part in Oxfordshire and it is always good fun and part of a national event.

All the generously donated money goes to OHCT who then send 50% to the church. OHCT use their share to award grants to churches across the county towards the cost of fabric repairs and re-orderings.
