Story
It has been said that I am good at the talking, now I get the chance to do the walking.
I've "talked the talk", now it is time to "walk the walk"
I am going to walk the wall, I am walking Hadrian's wall from Carlisle to Newcastle in a week.
Hadrian's wall stretches from one side of the English coast to the other, at the country's narrowest point. Hadrian's wall (although to be honest you are more likely to hear me call it 'adrian's wall) was the northern limit of the Roman empire, and it was the final frontier.
This seems some how appropriate.
With Pete James, we aim to make it from Bowness-on-Solway on Monday through to Newcastle on Friday. Covering the full national trail of 84 miles.
Given the recent weather in the UK we need as much moral support as possible.
So thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am hoping to raise £600 for Precious Sisters. Precious Sisters is a charity raising money to fund secondary education for those that cannot afford it. The charity was set up by my friends in honour of one of their sisters.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
The money raised will pay for education, as secondary school fees are not free in Kenya. The opportunity of getting to secondary school and perhaps from there to college is a real step change for the recipients.
I have been really lucky in life, and this is a way for me to give back. So if only to ensure I keep going, please dig deep and donate now, any contribution would be very welcome.
Only 84 miles to go! Thank you Keith
