Glasgow Kiltwalk 2023 · 30 April 2023 ·

Help us bring food and other essential help to victims fleeing terror attacks in Burkina Faso.

Story

I am doing the Glasgow Kiltwalk to raise funds for APT to help displaced people fleeing the terror attacks in Burkina Faso.

Over 2 million displaced people (IDPs, or "internal refugees") have fled the violence.

Often severely traumatised by the harrowing things they have experienced, they have left their homes, fields, and possessions, and moved to larger towns to seek refuge. They arrive with few possessions, and no way to support themselves. In the places where they settle, they struggle to get access to food, water, shelter, schooling, or medical help.

APT's partners in Burkina are bringing food, clothing, and bedding to those arriving in their communities, as well as providing access to trauma healing for those in need. £40 can buy a sack of grain to feed a family for a month.

I am aiming to raise awareness of, and help for the plight of those suffering, through my participation in the 14-mile Glasgow Kiltwalk from Clydebank to Balloch on the 30 April 2023.

We would be very grateful for anything you can do to help.

Thank you
