Manchester Marathon 2021 · 10 October 2021 ·

Our vision is for there to be a world where families and their children, irrespective of their disability or impairment, can reach their full potential and thrive. Our mission is to support and empower families with children living with a disability so that everyone gets to live their best life.

Story

My name is Keith Smithers, Headteacher of Elburton Primary School. I am running the Manchester Marathon in order to support a local charity which provides excellent care for children and families in Plymouth and at Elburton Primary School.

Although this is not my first marathon, it is my first for several years. Many years ago, I completed the Amsterdam, Paris and London marathons. Each time I entered I had the goal of running a marathon under 4 hours. Each time I failed to achieve this goal. The toughest of these marathons was in Amsterdam where I recorded a time of 4 hours and 11 seconds! In Manchester, there are two goals, to raise money for a superb charity and run a marathon under 4 hours...wish me luck!

Thank you for supporting me and the Friends and Families of Special Children.
