Story

well this September myself and Leanne will be running the great north run to raise funds to help out our injured heroes. two years after we got that dreaded phone call, the memories of those lads and lasses at the queen Elizabeth hospital still sit stongly in our heart's. I felt humble being in the same room as such brave and amazing people. But these soldiers are still fighting and getting injured, and sadly killed. So please help us do all we can to raise money to give them some hope in the worst possible moments of their and their families lives. Thankyou.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Back in March 2011, i received the phone call that every person who has someone close to them serving in aghan dreads. One of my closest mates had been hit by a road side bomb and was fighting for his life. Words cant even describe the emotions that you go through in that first few days. The panic, the sadness the anger and then the terrible sadness you feel for their parents, siblings and other family members and friends. Its the one call you dread but the one call you never expect you will get. Well i did. Thankfully my friend survived, and although he has a long road to full recovery he will recover, unlike so many who sadly lost their lives and others who have lost limbs.

We spent a few days at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, and nothing could have prepared me for the sadness and also upmost respect i would feel for our injured troops there. Lads as young as 19 left with no limbs, but still a smile on their face. Its no age to loose so much in life and this spurred us all on to try and make a little difference for our injured troops.

The charities we have chosen to support give their money direct to our injured soldiers, ensuring when they are in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and after going for rehab, they receive the everday basics they need and anything else they need directly there and then is supplied for them. They have no bosses earning thousands a year, no money sitting in bank accounts, they just give as they receive money in. They were such a huge support to our troops in hospital and my mate and his family will tell you, they were a rock for them at the worst possible moment in their life.

So, my friends i am asking you to dig deep, and help the true heroes of our country. These men and women make me proud to be British, and they have lost so much serving for our country, so lets just give a little back. Thankyou for taking the time to read this.
