On Sunday 2 October I'm taking on my first ever marathon and running the 26.2 miles (42km) around London to raise money for children's cancer research charity - Children with Cancer UK.

I used to work for this charity and saw first-hand the importance of specialist research into finding kinder, safer treatments for childhood cancers. This research would otherwise largely go unfunded - only around 2% of cancer research funding in the UK is spent on research dedicated to childhood and young adult cancer.
