Story

Hey,

I am attempting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro with 3 of my friends in September whilst raising money for Ambient Support.

Why am I doing this? No, seriously WHY AM I DOING THIS???? Well, because life is short and its a great opportunity to help Ambient Support, a non profit charity supporting adults with learning difficulties and where my sister Claire has worked for nearly 10 years which has seen my whole family involved in various fund raising activities because we see the positive impact it has on families.

Claire and her colleagues assist adults with profound learning disabilities by providing respite to adults and their families who are considered vulnerable. The aim is to build a sensory room to improve the lifestyle, ability to learn and build independence to those who need it most. Unfortunately due to Covid they`ve had limited opportunity to fund raise and whilst they have successfully raised nearly £5k, they require an additional £7k to make this happen! This allows for them to convert the room with the required hoists, safety equipment and sensory items needed to make a difference, so any support you can offer is greatly appreciated. Every little helps!!

Ambient Support (formerly known as Heritage Care and Community Options) is a registered UK charity with over 25 years’ experience in providing care and support services for older people, people with a mental health needs and people with a learning disability. At Ambient, we believe that everyone is unique and they should be able to lead valued lives in their communities, treated with dignity and respect no matter their age, health condition or disability.
