Whilst my friends are RUNNING entire MARATHONS, I'm having to start small. I'm taking part in the Colourthon - a half-marathon walk around Southend at nightime. I've only just registered & but the event is next week (1st July) & so I'm appealing for donations in a very panicked & last-minute way! 

I'm hoping to raise a little money to buy toys for children staying in the Neptune Ward at Southend Hospital. Last year, we spent my daughters Saoirse's first Christmas Day on the Neptune ward after she contracted an infection. The staff kept our spirits & the Christmas cheer up through a very upsetting couple of nights. 

We were on the ward for just 48 hours, but there were children & families in for a much longer stay & undoubtedly more challenging period. Any small donation I can make to the ward will be my family's way of thanking the incredible staff & helping making sure there are toys to keep children smiling through their time there.
