Working with local schools and initiatives we are committed to enabling vulnerable children to attend school —empowering them with knowledge, skills, and opportunities to reach their full potential. Today, we are changing tomorrow for children who are often unseen and unheard.

Story

Hello!

On the 4th September I'm jumping in to Windermere and swimming a mile to raise money for an orphanage in south west Kenya.

The Orphanage is the home of children with HIV, it is based in Isebania in a simple mud hut with a corrogated iron roof. Two staff members care for them. There are no facilities in the hut and fresh water is collected from the river approximately half a mile away.

I'd like to raise as much money as I can to help with the general running of the orphanage, providing things like food, medical equipment and books. On average it costs 250pound per year to feed one child, 120pounds for education, 42 pounds for clothing and 10pounds for medicines.

Please help by giving anything you can. A mile isn't a huge amount I know, but jumping into a lake with scary plants and creatures is a big deal for me... (as everyone who has experienced my fear in jumping in the sea will know!)

Thank you!
