The Kazzyplop Challenge

The Peaks 54 Mile Trek Fest 2013! · 3 March 2013
As many of you already know in October 2012 my mum (AKA Karen/Kaz/Kazzyplop) was diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer.
While we went through a rollercoaster of emotions (and continue to do so) the nurses of Iain Rennie stepped straight in to provide her with home visits (a godsend in themselves), information, counselling and the support that only a professional can. But these are just some of the invaluable services that the hospice and their nurses provide to those with life limiting illnesses and their families.
There are hundreds of incredibly worthy charities out there seeking to prevent and cure cancer that need your support and I would encourage you to dig deep to support them. However, Iain Rennie - the nurses and hospice - provide essential help to deal with cancer as it is in the here and now. Speaking from experience, this is support you cannot put a price on.
(plus we all know how much mum likes to talk so we owe them big time!)
So, in July I (with a couple of other brave warrior women) will be walking 54miles across The Peak District!!!! (Yes I am mad, I'm more like Kazzyplop than I like to think- although she insists she won't be running a marathon just because she's got cancer).
My fundraising goal is £100 a mile! No mean feet (pun intended -I'm also my father's daughter) in itself...but I will require plenty of incentive to keep going!
Thank you in advance for your support - I won't let you down.
