Well we’ve done it. And enjoyed it, even though it was rougher, further and colder than we were led to believe (5.5K and 13 degrees). Tan came first in her age group and was sixth woman overall. I was third in my category of Welsh swimmers (out of 3) so I’m well pleased, apart from the fact that Tan finished a minute ahead of me.
