Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are off again, 2 Matelots, 1 Bootneck and a Pongo (well done Alex) to attempt the First Monster Challenge, a 120Km Duathalon around Loch Ness.  As Royal set up the site he picked the charity and we are raising funds for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund this year, full details below but an essential charity filling the funding gaps in looking after our service personnel within the Brigade.  One member of the team has been training hard, getting thrashed at Sandhurst, whilst John is whingeing about a sore back, Jules is trying to fix broken things (with the usual success) in preparation and I am getting tired just writing this so support us if only in the knowledge of the distress three quarters of us will be feeling.

The RMCTF is the overarching Royal Marine charity and money raised can be used for a wide variety of purposes, probably the widest of any service charity. It is run by a group of serving and retired Trustees who have a very wide view of need and a determination to ensure that any money donated is used to best effect.  The charity is there to support the recovery pathway, helping the wounded and injured in any way they can, particularly as the most severely injured begin their transition into civilian life; quite simply, the RMCTF will help when others cannot.  It aids in the decompression/quality of life pathway, helping those still serving and facing successive tours in high threat environments - providing adventure training for those returning from operations, funding homecoming events, financing memorials, maintaining our heritage etc. Finally the charity supports the through life pathway, continuing the same level of support and care once the beneficiaries break their formal links to the Corps.  Sadly, but importantly, the RMCTF also provides a grant to the next of kin of those who die in service within 48 hours of the event.

This charity does a great deal to address the issues faced by our injured service personnel.  Please support us in any way you can.  Even a fiver goes a long way.

Thanks You
