Pieta provides free, accessible one-to-one counselling to people suffering from suicidal ideation, engaging in self-harm or to those bereaved by suicide. With 270 qualified Therapists and support staff across 15 centres and 5 outreach, Pieta’s work ensures that help is available to those in crisis.

Story

I never imagined myself needing a service like Pieta.

But last year, we were just one of 340 families that experienced the tragic suicide of a loved one and came to rely on the help of Pieta and its suicide loss bereavement programme. Sadly, many more families will need this service over the coming years. With 80% of funding for these services coming from the public, Pieta relies on its army of fundraisers and your generosity to deliver this care.

To do our part, this August, a group of cyclists will pedal approximately 670km from Malin Head (Donegal) to Mizen Head (Cork) over 5 days to raise much needed funds for Pieta so it can continue to support those who rely on its services.

Through free and easily accessible therapy and counselling, Pieta's workers support people when they are at their most vulnerable and at the point of crisis. They support not only those who are feeling suicidal and self harming but also their families.

We hope you will support us in whatever way that you can so that Pieta can continue to help people in their time of greatest crisis.

About Pieta: Pieta's vision is a world where suicide, self-harm and stigma have been replaced by hope, self-care and acceptance. By supporting us you will allow us to strive to make this a reality. Without your support we would not have been able to give hope to over 50,000 people since we first opened our doors in 2006.All of our services (one-to-one counselling, 24 hour helpline, SBLO Service, Training and Education) are provided free of charge. This is only possible because of you.
