Story

Hello everybody,
thank you for opening the link I want to give you
an insight to what has happened since September
regarding my Grandad Ken. My Grandad was a
well functioning man who went to work every day and he absolutely loved it. He worked with my Dad
and some times I even went along with them!! But
around September my Grandad started having
funny turns and nobody knew what it was as he
was such a healthy looking man, after quiet a few
trips to the hospital and doctors we found out he
had a bleed on the brain to which brought on his
Dementia. The doctors could not put a finger on
whether it was Lewy bodies or vascular Dementia
As these both have very similar symptoms. But
after a while my Grandads episodes got worse he would usually come around after 1/2 a day to a day. But he had an episode resulting in my Dad phoning an ambulance and the hospital decided to keep him in there as he was not safe enough to live
on his own. Over the 2 weeks he was at the
hospital he gradually got worse and started becoming more slower on recognising who we were.
It would take him around 6-7 second to
acknowledge us. His short term memory degraded.
It is horrible as you can not do anything to help so you just sit there knowing that he may wake up
one day and never remember who we are.
My Mum and Dad had done such an amazing job
with my Grandad by taking care of him and making sure he was looked after before any of us! We love you Grandad so dearly. But he passed away in his
sleep on the 3rd of April at 2am. His funeral was the 16th April it is heart breaking as there was only a 6
person restriction, no funeral car. Just an 15
minute interval to say our final goodbyes, in one
aspect that is all my Grandad wanted was just a
small funeral surrounded by the people who loved him and believe me that Man could fill a church 4x
over. He has and always will be my hero❤️

So in memory of him, for his birthday this year I would like to do a fundraiser for The forget me not ward,I will be doing this through fundraising sessions and all profits will be being
donated. But if anybody would like to donate even as little as £1 it would be highly appreciated!
