Story
UK's Charities General fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled - including this year's 26 mile London Marathon on April 26th - and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income. This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.
Kenton Tennis club would like to do something positive this week to keep active and donate some money towards our local hospice St Lukes and participate in their "2.6 challenge". We want to help them care for our community and are remembering especially the people who have recently been sent home to recover from COVID-19. Let's see if 26 of us can plan a 2.6 Challenge and raise £26 each to meet a target of £26*26, i.e. £676.
Have fun thinking of activities you and your family would enjoy and post photos on our What's App group as well as donating what you can e.g. £26. If you make a donation please write the 2.6 challenge activity that you have undertaken in the message box.
Many thanks
The Tennis Committee
