Story
In the summer of 2021, my mental health hit its lowest ebb. When seeking help, I was faced with a 12 month waiting list for NHS help, and a 6 month waiting list for private counselling. Mental health provision in the UK is underfunded and so often unavailable to those who need it.
Charities like Mind bridge the gap, offering help, information and lifelines to people who are struggling with anxiety and depression, like myself. Their vital work saves lives and is more important than ever after the pandemic has left many people suffering with poor mental health.
Often on the darkest days, putting my trainers on and getting outside for a run is the only thing that will help. A daily Sertraline keeps things ticking, but there's nothing quite like pounding the pavement and getting those endorphins going.
So I've made the absolutely bonkers decision to do it for 26.2 miles around London, all to raise some cash for Mind and the important work that they do.
Any donations are massively appreciated and will go a long way in helping those in need. Thank you x
