Story
Team Holdsworth are five friends from University - Jess, Celia, Claire, Karen and Anthea - who met over 25 years ago. We will be riding 100 miles from Alnwick to Edinburgh in memory of our dear friend Keri Holdsworth, who died in a road traffic accident in 2014.
Keri was a brilliant friend - kind, loyal, funny - and a truly inspirational person and sportswoman. She was capped 15 times for Scotland Women and was a dedicated and much-loved member of Edinburgh's Watsonians Club. She loved sport, and her career as a physiotherapist with NHS Fife allowed her to support club rugby, Scotland age-grade teams, international players, and be a volunteer physiotherapist at the London 2012 Olympics. She passionately supported young players, particularly girls' festivals and tournaments. Keri was inducted into the Scottish Rugby's Hall of Fame in 2021 and is still giving to others, through the Keri Holdsworth scholarship at Edinburgh University, and her legacy as an organ donor.
Keri grew up in Alnwick and lived and worked in Edinburgh, and we will be riding over 100 miles between the two on 18th and 19th June 2022. We are raising money in Keri's name for Dallaglio Rugby Works, a charity who use the values of rugby and sport to change the lives of disadvantaged young people.
