Zinc seeks to inspire people through the arts & education, to raise aspirations, & to develop & promote new talent. We believe that providing opportunities for all individuals, regardless of background, to discover and fulfil their potential will lead to more rounded, happy & inclusive societies.

Story

Zinc exists to inspire people through education and the arts, to raise aspirations, and to develop and promote new talent. Zinc passionately believes that everyone should have the opportunity to discover, or re-discover, their potential, regardless of their background or circumstances. The Zinc Centre and its activities will always provide a safe, welcoming place for anyone and everyone to grow, learn, explore and enjoy, while supported by a family of committed staff.

The Ongar Firewalk takes place on 21st October in aid of Zinc; a charity which provides vital support and life-enhancing opportunities for everyone - from the disadvantaged and disabled, to schoolchildren and those who have a free hour to expand their horizons.

Everyone should have the chance to be the best they can be and with no limits.

As well as the opportunity to walk on 20 feet of blazing hot coals - burning at over 1,000 degrees Celsius - participating in the Firewalk also gives you two hours of motivational training. Combining no-nonsense, easily explainable scientific principles with proven motivational skills, this training will not only have you eager to tackle the burning coals, but also equip you to better face challenges elsewhere in your life
