Story
Ella’s memory was founded in 2010 after Martyn and his Wife Emmillie suffered the loss of their Daughter Ella.
12 years on - the charitable organisation has developed and renovated the bereavement facilities at Treliske hospital, helping hundreds of families who have suffered a loss via late miscarriage or still birth.
As well as the main facility which is the Daisy Suite, they have also have renovated a second side room on the ward, added two garden areas - one with a stainless steel memorial tree where engraved leaves are attached for parents..
In 2019 they expanded the support service by opening a counselling and support room in the nearby Health and Wellbeing centre.
To date we have funded over 500 counselling sessions - assisting 100+ families, as these services are currently not available on the NHS.
This is a multipurpose room offering the midwifery team a space to meet patients post birth and every Wednesday Ella’s memory fund a specialist counsellor who meets families to offer a vital counselling service which the local NHS do not offer.
Ella’s memory rely on local support to continue their vital services to families and due to lockdown and Covid 19 the fundraising efforts were not allowed to take place.
The support and counselling service costs £12,000 a year to run and we would like to raise that for Ella’s memory so that this is not a worry for them until 2025.
Please donate whatever you can to support them.
Thank you
