Our story :

Looking back at 2015 it was a sad year I lost two equally wonderful horses through tragic accidents, my old hrose was just about retired and I felt it was probably time to hang up my boots. That day I decided it was time to give up I bought a colossal young horse...I mean I'm pretty sure he's part bred giraffe (he's also competing with his new rider..we'll get to that bit. .) I worked really hard training him and building a support network for his education.  Then came the time to ride him and I did...but we just didn't click...I now knew for sure my riding boots were destined for ebay. I wasn't sad about it I'd be happy to help and support my young horse and watch my old fella enjoy his golden years! Plan!

Then like most good plans...they didn't go to plan!

Sat in the house...bored.. an advert popped up for the most perfect horse I could have ever imagined..and even though I'd mentally prepared myself for retirement I rang his owner and arranged a viewing..

When I plodded across what felt like 100 acres to a rotund black and white cob as tall as he was wide I smiled and chuckled..he was a lot less agile looking than what I was used to but thought he was magnificent never the less!

I clipped on his lead rein and took a few happy steps then 0.2 seconds later...that little round cob was gone bucking and cat leaping across the field..lead rope snapped.. in that moment I knew I'd bought him!

I excitedly rang his owner said I was keen to buy him (poor emma was mortified at his naughtyness...I was chuffed!) And that night we collected him.

Friends and family thought I'd truly lost the plot this time! Buying a horse I couldn't catch and didn't ride but I just knew he was just what I was looking for!

Over the passing weeks and months Aaron (don't laugh..) affectionately gained the name turbo..for obvious reasons!

Why is this a challenge for us? Well for Aaron. ..its probably more a challenge around his breaks. ..he has none..and gets really excited at anything faster than a walk. For me..I hate jumping it makes me feel violently sick. I have a severe phobia of straight pole fences of any height and xc fences...just no!

I don't know why I signed up...well I do...life's too short to not do your bit and help others..and terrify yourself only a little  (a lot)

Thank you and give  as generously as you can
