Story
So a lot has changed in 2 years since we started this journey together as a team to run the Reading Half Marathon to raise funds for Sue Ryder for the amazing work they do to care for loved ones.
Our loved one is Nina (Zoe’s mum) who I never had the privilege to meet but her daughter is an inspiration and has bought us all together to face this challenge.
So what’s changed I hear you ask…..?
Something magical happened to me that I was told would probably never happen because I have a chronic illness called endometriosis, which can effect fertility.
My partner Ross and I have been together 8years and were ready to start a family, being told this news was devastating and heart breaking and I sunk into a hole of depression. I thought I had failed as a women because my body wouldn’t do what it’s meant to do.
Ross was a massive support and taught me not to give up so we carried on trying then something hit the world called COVID-19. Strangely we thank the pandemic as it took the stress away from trying, we had something else to think about and deal with but my body relaxed and I missed a period.
YESSSS you guessed it……..I had fallen pregnant!!!!! We couldn’t believe it but 7 pregnancy tests and an early scan definitely confirmed it.
On the 13th July 2021 at 2:00am after a long 53 hour labour which resulted in an emergency c-section we welcomed our little miracle baby boy Axel into the world 💙 being a mum to him is the best ever and I couldn’t imagine my life now with out him.
Due to having the c-section recovery is longer so I’m unable to run in the Half Marathon with my team which I’m gutted about but I will still be there with them every step of the way on the day cheering them on from the side lines and I’ll be waiting for them at finish line.
We all started together, we will all finish together 🙌🏼
