Will and I are both about to complete the Great North Run for the first time. It will be my first event after an injury back in 2019 and Will's first ever event (and the furthest he has ever ran). We have chosen to raise money for Building Futures East, a charity based close by to us in the east end of Newcastle who provide fantastic support for people in the local area, including an emergency food bank. Their food bank has recently reached critically low levels of stock again, and at a time when families are about to be further affected by the rise in fuel costs and inflation, BFE expect to receive a huge increase in referrals in the coming weeks and months. We would be so grateful for any donations towards this great cause.

Building Futures East charity have been running for over 13 years supporting community development in the east end of Newcastle. We're based in Walker ward which is one of the most deprived wards in the North East and people we support overcome many challenges on a daily basis. Even before the crisis, 42% of residents in Walker struggled to access food and 1/3 of the population live with long-term health conditions or disabilities.Families in Newcastle are struggling to make ends meet during the crisis. As we continue to live with the devastating impacts of Covid-19, the cost of living crisis is making things harder. We need your help to keep the project going.
