Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So update… I did it, all that training paid off. It was a brilliant challenge and I’m not going to lie, it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Oh boy! Those hills 😂 they went on forever and not only that, they were covered in rocks and boulders so that was tough on the old feet. Talking of feet, I covered myself in blister plasters, and why not….no point waiting to see if you’ll get one , and guess what? I didn’t get one… felt sorry for those that did and had to withdraw 😢

We had some incredible windy weather, mighty downpours but you know what! It added to the challenge, and being deaf in one ear and having cataracts that added to the mix as well but, it was awesome and we met the most loveliest people oh%! And a lot of cows too 🤣. Would I do it again… yes, where’s the pen 😂

Update on Bert, he hasn’t shrunk at all and is much, much bigger than I thought. Waiting to be referred for Botox to help stop facial spasms and a referral to see a neurologist. If symptoms persist then they will remove the bulk of it.. but hopefully we won’t need to come to that.

So, I’d better start training for the Great North Run

Xxxxxxx

What can I say, the training is going well. Went out last night ( Friday 29 April) on a 15 miler with my walking buddy Selina, around Draycote Water in the dark, creepy but so much fun. Not many weeks to go now.

Frustratingly, trying to buy train tickets for that weekend is a nightmare, they are doing train works on the Sunday and haven’t released any details, in the meantime the prices for Friday are going up,. We’ll drive if we have too and sleep in the car for a bit before we travel back lol.

I bought a nice brand new walking jacket today as found out the other week my old faithful is no longer waterproof, good job I found out now and not on the ultra weekend. We are hoping for good weather so please do keep your fingers crossed 🤞

I finally have an appointment with my consultant on May 18th, don’t know anything yet but I’ll keep you all posted. All I know is I’m still having facial spasms and the tablets I’m on to stop them have been causing LFT issues and now thyroid issues too but, hopefully it’s all just a blip…

So looking forward to the Ultra, I’m like a teenager ready to go to a Rockin’’ weekender 😜😎🤣

Catch up soon Amigos

Love Kezza
