I am running the London landmarks half marathon for EHE Rare Cancer Charity

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2021 · 1 August 2021 ·
So my story? Well actually, it’s my dearest friends story, my Nicola so here’s a bit of her story:
Nicola was diagnosed with EHE back in 2014, just after giving birth to her only child, Owen.
Sadly the last 5 years have been an uphill struggle for Nic, with trying to get her head around everything, learning about EHE and what this means to Nics life, becoming a mum and trying to live life as normal as she can along the way, whatever that is!!
It’s been a rollercoaster to say the least and in April 2019 Nic had to have a full liver transplant, which has been a great success however EHE is sadly in Nics life and will continue to be so.
So that’s why I’m doing this, doing my first ever run and starting with a half marathon, nothing like going easy but I just remind myself of Nics not easy and push through and trust me, I’ve had to dig deep to get this far. I am not a runner!!
Therefore if you can help push me over that line and give me a bit of inspiration for every step I need to take, well that would certainly help. Every penny is so important to the research EHE needs so anything you can spare, really will be hugely appreciated. Plus what’s more, my work are going to match up to £1,000 so double your money, how great is that!!
If you can also include a song as part of your comments, I’ll add this to my playlist and think of each one of you and the difference together we can make on this journey called life.
Here’s some more information on EHE:
Epithelioid Haemangioendothelioma (EHE) is an indiscriminate and often destructive cancer occurring in men or woman at any age and which is often aggressive in children and young adults. We know little about this rare cancer which is why research is so critical. Yet because of its rarity, there is no funding from government or the pharmaceutical industry for research into this cancer, and very little from larger cancer foundations and charities.
Thank you so much.
Wish me luck 😬💪 xxx
