Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As I am self funding, every penny raised will go to Cure Myeloma. Many thanks

I have always wanted to take part in this trek but have never had the motivation or physical ability to do so. Over the past few years I have worked hard to loose nearly 6 stone and I now feel that I am able to challenge myself even further by taking part in this trek. So in 8 weeks (7th Oct 17) I will be jetting of to Beijing with a group of 34 other people I haven't met to take part in this amazing challenge.

I have chosen Sheffield Hospitals Charity - Cure Myeloma as my charity as our close friend Matthew has recently been diagnosed with Myeloma and he is being treated in Sheffield. Matthew is 40 and has two little girls and I want to do all I can to help raise funds for this charity in the hope that a cure for Myeloma can be found. Dr Chantry and his team need £90,000 to continue ground breaking research and send it to clinical trial. They are trialling a unique genetically engineered virus to kill the cancerous myeloma cells. The preliminary results of this show that around 50% of cells are killed after 2 days and 100% after 4 days.

I would really appreciate your support by sponsoring me, no matter how much, to encourage me along the way and keep me motivated when I feel I can't do any more!! This is the most challenging thing I have ever done and knowing that every step is helping to find a cure for Myeloma will help me on my way.
