Fundraising for Bliss
I’ve chosen to fundraise for Bliss because our daughter, Jessica was born 6 weeks prematurely, weighing just 2 lb 10 oz. She could wear my husbands wedding ring as a bracelet!
Jessica was looked after at the neonatal unit at Heartlands Hospital for 6 weeks. She was allowed home on her original due date, weighing 4lb. Jessica is now 14 years old and loving life. She has just started her GCSE's, completed her Bronze Duke of Edinburgh and is starring in a local Pantomime this year - drama is her passion.
There are more than 100,000 babies born needing neonatal care every year and I want to make a difference to them. Every donation that’s made to this page brings Bliss closer to ensuring that every baby born premature or sick in the UK has the best chance of survival and quality of life. Bliss does that by supporting parents to care for their babies, campaigning for better neonatal care and enabling life-changing research.
I can't imagine what life would be like without Jessica, I am raising money to ensure all family's who have premature babies have the chance to bring their children home and raise them as we have done. The support of charities like Bliss is essential in making this happen.
