Story
This year in March, we lost our Neice Lora. She was diagnosed with cancer in November 2024, from the moment she was told she was determined to fight, she was always positive and wouldn't let anyone around her be, in her words "a negative Nancy". She would get up every morning and write 5 things to be grateful for. She was such an inspiration. Sadly she passed away in March aged just 41.
This year I will be walking the Relay for life for everyone in my life touched by this hateful disease but especially for Lorra, I wish I'd known her longer. Love you Lora. Xx
PLEASE help me raise as much as possible to help more of us survive cancer. Thank you
Relay For Life celebrates the power of community fundraising to make breakthroughs happen. Across the UK and the globe, teams of friends, families and colleagues fundraise for world-leading research to save and improve lives, then unite as a community at an event to honour everyone affected by cancer and celebrate the progress we’re making.
How does the money you raise power progress?
- £65 could buy special restriction enzymes. These act like molecular scissors to cut long strands of DNA, allowing our scientists to find out more about the genes that can cause cancer.
- £220 could fund our team of nine cancer nurses for one hour. Our nurse helpline offers confidential support and guidance to people affected by cancer.
When you fundraise for Relay For Life, you’re helping fund research and make discoveries. You’re helping bring about a world where everybody can live longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
Together we are beating cancer.
Thank you for your support.
