Race to the Stones 2022 · 9 July 2022 to 10 July 2022 ·

Story

On 9th & 10th July 2022 I am running my first ever ultra-marathon – Race to the Stones - 100k across the ridgeway finishing at the Avebury Stones, alongside two of my friends; the other 2 thirds of  the exclusive ‘RUB CLUB’.

Alongside this amazing personal achievement I felt I really needed to give back to a charity who gives so much to the young people of
Gloucestershire. It is estimated that 1 in 10 young people in England has a significant mental health illness, and that 75% of adults who suffer with mental illness first had symptoms before the age of 24. TIC+ listens to young people in a way that makes them feel accepted, safe, and valued so they can say what’s on their mind and be really listened to without the fear of being judged.

During 2021, which was undoubtedly the hardest year of my life, the year where my middle name unofficially became resilience, I decided I needed something to prove anything is possible with enough determination. I’m not an athlete, I’m juggling running with being a single mum to my fantastic teenage son, working full time and being a student. The training alone will be a huge commitment for myself.

I would really appreciate any donations to help support young people to take on resilience as their middle name too.

Feel free to follow my journey
