Kerry Sloan is raising money for Myeloma UK

Edinburgh Kiltwalk 2026 · 13 September 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma. We make it possible to live longer and better lives with myeloma. Through research and treatments, we find new ways to a cure. Together, we are the cure.

Story

Caitlin and I decided to do the 11 mile Kiltwalk this year to raise much needed funds for Myeloma UK. Any donation will make a difference and we are really grateful to everyone for your contributions.

Sloanie senior (aka Iain - husband and dad) has taken part in new drug trials and has received newly approved chemotherapy treatments, developed specifically to treat Multiple Myeloma. We want to raise funds to help with more research to develop more treatments to help people with Myeloma get well and stay in remission for longer.

Multiple myeloma is an incurable but highly treatable blood cancer that develops in plasma cells within the bone marrow. Myeloma can cause symptoms such as bone pain, fractures, fatigue, kidney damage and frequent or recurrent infections. There is currently no cure but there are many treatments available that aim to bring the myeloma under control and improve quality of life.

If we manage to raise £500 then my employer could match the funds and add another £500.
