Mark's Duathlon Challenge · 17 April 2020

NHS Charities Together and its members across the UK are hugely grateful for the support received from so many since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Story

Mark Widdowson was born with Spina Bifida and after many health problems he became a wheelchair user.  He started going to the gym in 2018 and has regularly attended 2-3 times a week since.  Since the outbreak of the virus and the closure of the gyms Mark has become pretty much housebound.  He doesn't have the internet so his social ties have been severed.  He loves a challenge and over the last 2 years we have taken part in some fantastic events which have challenged Mark in many ways.  Through this tough time I wanted to give him something to work towards so we've set ourselves a daily Duathlon challenge. 19 km run split up with a 19 min cycle for 21 days.  After week 1 if Mark is faring ok we will up it to 2x19 mins of cycling.  Please take a look at his story
