32 students from King Edward's School in Bath travelled to Western Kenya during July 09 to take part in a cultural exhange and help build a science lab and library at Wagwer Secondary School in Western Kenya. Students and staff at King Edward's raised significantly more than the initial target of £25,000 and so the project was extended. Their new target is £36,508 which will pay for 2 science labs and a school library for Wagwer Secondary School, a bore hole and a computer room for Wagwer Primary School and a bore hole for Kayeiye Primary School.
60% of all fundraised money will be used on these projects, the remainder will be used by Moving Mountains for its ongoing projects (orphanages, clinics, schools, street-kid programs etc). None of this money was used to subsidise the teachers or students that visited Kenya. If you would like to make a donation, please do so by clicking on the link below!
