HemiHelp's services are now being delivered by Contact, the charity for families with disabled children. To support families of children with a disability please fundraise for Contact. If you wish, your donation can specifically support families living with hemiplegia - just let Contact know.

Story

Our beautiful daughter Demi suffered a stroke / clot to the brain during pregnancy, due to the damage she suffered,  she was born with a condition called Hemiplegia, which in her case, effects the left side of her body.  She show's great determination and resilience in her daily challenges, and this very determination has gave myself the urge to put my body and mind through an extreme challenge, this September, I will be riding the 975 miles, Lands End to John O'Groats over 9 days.

During the cycle challenge, the primary aim is to raise awareness to the condition Hemiplegia, and also fund raise for the wonderful charity HemiHelp, who are 100% funded by donations, and require all the support they can currently get.

HemiHelp provides information, support and guidance to people with hemiplegia, a lifelong condition caused by injury to the brain. It affects movement on one side of the body to a varying degree and can also cause other less visible effects such as epilepsy, specific learning difficulties, anxiety or challenging behaviour. HemiHelp's mission is to support people with hemiplegia and their families at every stage of their lives.
