Story

We've been extremely lucky to have a healthy family however not everyone is as fortunate.  Family, friends and colleagues I know have all experienced a parents worst nightmare of a seriously ill child or worse.

So my family are getting their bikes, paddles and walking shoes out to tackle "Race the Sun" in the the lake district to raise money for Action Medical Research.

The challenge starts with a 25 mile bike ride, then a walk up Helvellyn (England's second highest mountain), canoe 2 miles on Lake Thirlmere and then finish with another 25 mile bike ride to get to the finish before the sun goes down and the pub closes!

Action Medical Research is the leading UK-wide charity saving and changing children’s lives through medical research. For 65 years they’ve helped pioneer ways to prevent disease and develop treatments benefiting millions of people. Their research has helped to beat polio in the UK, develop ultrasound, fight meningitis and prevent stillbirths.

But they urgently need more funds to develop new treatments and cures for sick babies and children.  So please join my family in raising funds to help Action Research prevent a parents worst nightmare.

Thank you for your support
