I personally know the heartache and pain a parent suffers when their child dies. In 2010 my 23 year old daughter Hayleigh Dunne was tragically killed in a road traffic accident when her car left the road and hit a tree. Hayleigh died instantly. We immediately sought bereavement & counselling help from local charities and professionals in the aftermath of our terrible loss which helped us to gradually get our life back together. I want to help parents like me who have suffered the loss of their  son or daughter but also challenge myself at the same time. I have decided to try and complete 2 Marathons in 6 days, starting with the 127th Boston Marathon in America on 17th April 2023 and finishing with the TCS London Marathon on 23rd April 2023. I have chosen to raise money for Child Bereavement UK and here's why:-

Child Bereavement UK helps families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. We support children and young people (up to the age of 25) when someone important to them has died or is not expected to live, and parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying. We provide training to professionals in health and social care, education, and the voluntary and corporate sectors, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families. We offer free, confidential bereavement support by telephone, video or instant messenger, as well as face to face from a number of locations across the UK.
