Roger Williams Park needs trees! Our trees are aging so we need to bring in some young trees to keep the Park beautiful for generations to come. For each $5,000 raised we can grow and plant one new grove of 20 or more young trees.

Story

Hello everyone.  Since March I have been working in Roger Williams Park.  It is RI's most treasured city park, and it rivals some of America's greatest parks.  This year, I saw first-hand how critical these public places are for the health and wellness of everyone, no matter their zip code.  The Park was full of socially-distant families, couples, and people seeking peace and quiet, in all kinds of weather, throughout the pandemic.  Everyone needed to recharge and possibly even see a neighbor, friend, or colleague.  The hot dry summer was especially busy, every evening when the sun started to set.  Everyone found a spot under a tree and just....exhaled.

The park's trees are aging though.  The City does all they can to prune and care for these older trees and does not have the funding to plant new ones.  This campaign will fund dozens of new trees in the Park, which will grow every year, making shade for people who are not even yet with us.

I made a gift to this campaign and I hope you will to.  Thanks!
