Couch to 1,000 miles

I’m relatively new to running having started in mid 2018. Before that the furthest I’d run was my high school cross country 20 years prior, but when a family member set a 12 hour 5 mile looped ultra marathon event my wife decided that with 8 weeks to go "we" would show our support by signing me up; her sister had promised to give me a medal if I finished a lap.
Immediately my stubborn streak kicked in and, adamant that I would run the full 12 hours, I started training with my first run being a horrendous, stop start 5k around Roath Park. But, fast forward 8 weeks and I did keep going for the full 12 hours finishing with 10 complete laps, an inability to walk for the next 2 weeks and an instant love of running around the countryside for hours on end.
So for 2019 I've decided to see how far I can go, my aim is to run at least 1,000 miles this year and as part of that I will be taking part in a number of events:
I’d like to make this more than just a personal achievement so I am raising funds for Epilepsy Research UK who support and promote basic and clinical scientific research into the causes, treatments and prevention of epilepsy. Their the only national charity in the UK that is exclusively dedicated to funding independent research into this condition and they are supported almost entirely through donations.
They’re a truly worthwhile cause and any donation would be greatly appreciated.
