Braeden Williams was diagnosed with a brain tumour 1 day before his 5 birthday he was rushed down to Edinburgh for a life saving operation. He then had to endure treatment after treatment chemotherapy , radiotherapy, stem cell transplant the list goes on. After a while the treatment took its toll on his body and his mobility and speech were affected but still he smiled and giggled a true soldier. He had to travel between Edinburgh Glasgow and Aberdeen being away from home for extended periods of time which was hard. He fought hard for 2 years but unfortunately he lost his fight age 7 with his mum by his side. ❤️Braeden forever 7 ❤️ Braedens mum Milene now devotes her life to raising awareness of childhood cancer with various campaigns, The biggest being glow gold for September which sees landmarks light up gold. She also places gold sprayed bikes which represent a local child who has lost their life to childhood cancer. Milene is now a committee member for Calico who support her work in September. Calico also support local families financially when a diagnosis is made, they provide equipment to the oncology team and they give each child a rainbow trail which is beads they attach to a string which represents each treatment they receive. Calico are there to help those who need it and was started by bereaved parents. Every single penny calico raise is used locally for children being supported by the wonderful team at Aberdeen sick kids oncology ward.
