Along with some of my colleagues I will be taking part in a skydive to raise money for a local charity that is very close to our hearts. The immense work that they do providing comfort and support to suffers of life threatening illnesses and their families and friends during their final days is both inspiring and humbling.

I have chosen to support this charity in memory of Fran Ling who was a loved colleague to all of the staff at Simms and sadly passed away in February last year.

To anyone that had the pleasure of knowing Fran like I did they will know what a kind and considerate person she was , and how she was in many way the life and sole of the office atmosphere.

As a family run business it comforts us all greatly that she spent her last days at the hospice where they helped her to be as relaxed and comfortable as possible despite her condition. It is this that drives me to raise money for such a worthwhile cause in the knowledge that despite the tragedy that faces their patients there is a service available that offers such understanding and support in a final time of need.
