Story

With football in the headlines, I am heading off to cycle 1000 kilometres solo and self-supported (yes: me, a stove, a trowel and a tent) round Scotland and Orkney to raise at least funds to build a football pitch and support the ongoing education for girls and boys in a school in Uganda; and one further projects supported by this fantastic organisation.

I started off with the intention of raising half this amount for one project - let’s keep going and fund two or more - smash through beyond this £3,500 target for a great cause.

Let's change lives together!  Please help by giving generously.  Each £1 you give goes directly to the project and will be worth so much more for each young person you will help.

This project, which has a primary focus on girls, is delivered by the Huracan Foundation - a UK registered charity that uses football as a catalyst to help change the lives of hundreds of children around the world each year.  Sport helps engage and keep young people in education for longer and with better results.

The Huracan team support projects run by outstanding teachers from the Teach For All network that are using football to solve social problems specific to the local community ranging from reducing teenage pregnancies, child marriage and alcoholism, to helping encourage gender equality; as well as improving the children's school attendance and performance.
